Today´s approximately 104-mile long tour, which can therefore be classed as difficult, leads us into the Black Forest.

We start this tour in Glottertal (1004 ft), with its luxuriant orchards and vineyards. On this tour we pass attractive villages such as Denzlingen (768ft) and Waldkirch (899ft). Here the first challenge already awaits us, the climb up to Kandel.

At the almost 7.5-mile long ascent from Waldkirch, we have to cope with the 3281 ft in altitude before we reach the plateau.

We continue via St. Peter (2356ft) and Eschbach (1339m) to Kirchzarten (1247ft). Now comes the next ascent via Schauinsland, Freiburg im Breisgau’s local mountain. Here, a 9. 9-mile stretch of inclines, with a difference in altitude of  2625ft, awaits us. Gaining altitude quickly we can enjoy the beautiful view many times. We pass the mining museum, Hofsgrund (3449 ft), Belchen, Utzenfeld (561m) and Präg and cycle to Bernau (893m), situated to the south of the Feldberg, in the High Black Forest.

We continue the tour through Riggenbach and Äule (3123ft), passing Schluchsee with its namesake health resort in the nature park South-Black-Forest.
Titisee (2723ft), at the lake of the same name, in a beautiful landscape and St.Märgen (2936ft) are our last villages before we return to our starting point of Glottertal (1004ft)
