Today we cycle on one of the most beautiful passes of the Alps, the Silvretta high-alpine road. The starting point of this varied tour is just before the entrance to the village of Bludenz. This tour can also be used as a connection tour to the Flexen Pass

Here, the road slopes gently upward alongside villages such as Schruns (2264 ft), St. Gallenkirch, Gaschurn and Parenten (3445 ft) to the actual starting point of this high-alpine road.

From here on, the road snakes in more than 20 bends serpentlike uphill and we soon gain altitude. Having put the climbs of up to 14% behind us, we reach the Vermund-Reservoir. Continuing the tour through this enchanting high-alpine landscape brings us again to gradients of around the 10 % mark, before we get to the pass summit.

After we have enjoyed the view of the Silvretta Reservoir and the mountainous landscape a terrific descent with a maximum gradient of 10 % awaits us. After passing the lower toll gate we continue our tour till we have reached the junction towards Zeinis and Galtür - the destination of this 29.8 mile long tour.
