The worldwide known mountain village of HEILIGENBLUT is the starting point of this unique and demanding 24km cycle tour, to the EDELWEISSPITZE (2571m) with a 14% ascent.

Heiligenblut is at 1,288m above sea level and is named the most beautiful village due to its unique mountain setting. On the very well constructed road in the high alps we rapidly ride uphill to the "Kasereck" at a height of 1,910m. Riding downhill we reach the junction to the "Kaiser Franz Josefs Höhe".

But we turn right and arrive after many bends at the north portal of the 311m long alpine tunnel at 2,305 m over sea level. Afterwards we can relax on our tour downhill along the karst hillsides of the Brennerkogel along to the 117m long Mittertörtunnel at 2,328m. Passing the "Fuscher-Lacke" we ride on many bends uphill to the "Fuscher Törl" at 2,423m that was build to commemorate the workers who died when building this road.

From here we see our destination at 2,571m height, the "EDELWEISS-SPITZE“ that was formerly named "Kendlkope" or "Ponek".

We still have to overcome about 2 km and 14 % ascent before we can enjoy the fantastic view of the more than 30 "Dreitausender".
